Music is a language. If one doesn’t have anything to say, one should keep quiet. My goal and dream is to make music which comments on the state of the world and affects the fundamental values of the listener. This is possible without using text as long as the music itself has a meaning, a message.
In the beginning of the jazz era the music was full of energy, celebration and protest. If possible, I want to revive jazz and make it dangerous again. If not possible, I’ll stick to folk and rock. I need the music to be more than the mind-numbing entertainment that often results in a preservation of the existing.
My musical inspiration comes from the 1970’s progressive rock and experimental jazz, the 1960’s avant-gardes, minimalism and psychedelic wave, the 1950’s blues and the 1940’s bebop. If it was not for the strange rhythms, some of the tunes could possibly be described as blues. Other tunes can perhaps be categorized as jazz, while some parts are based on free improvisation, with a touch of Scandinavian folk music ... all kept together by the story of the music.
